What You’ll Do:
Operates a tractor trailer , with a GVW greater than 26,001 pounds to collect and transport waste materials as scheduled and directed in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
- Prepares for daily assignments by inspecting the vehicle and equipment.
- Spot and pick-up loads at customer designated locations.
- Secures loads to prohibit spills or flying debris while in transit to the landfill or other disposal facilities.
- Completes required paperwork and review for accuracy.
- Check vehicle prior to leaving the yard and upon returning to the yard to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Note any vehicle defects and report needed repair.
- Maintain an acceptable appearance and highest standard of conduct within engaging customers.
- Remains flexible regarding assignments and other duties and exhibits a cooperative effort and teamwork in working with fellow drivers and other employees.
- Maintains cleanliness of the truck cab and helps to maintain the truck and upkeep of the yard area.
- Performs all functions in accordance with the “can do” philosophy, provides support, backup and training and performs work of other positions, as qualified, when needed and performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school education or equivalency preferred.
- Must possess a non-expired Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A).
- 2-year of Class A tractor/trailer driving experience.
- Ability to read and write legibly and keep detailed records of work performed.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing
- No DUIs; Failed drug screens or refusals in the past five years
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Environment conditions includes exposure to dirt, fumes, noise and changing weather conditions
- Frequently required to enter and exit Vehicles; Climb up and down to access different areas of the vehicle, rolling of tarps.
- Frequently required to stand and sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Required: Walking, stepping, and climbing on uneven ground
- Exposure to non Hazardous waste materials
