Overview
Codimonk Nursery School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher/Lead Teacher to join our educational team beginning in August 2026. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
As the Teacher / Lead Teacher, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing engaging curricula that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development in young learners. Your expertise in behavior management and effective communication will be essential in guiding both students and fellow educators.
At Codimonk Nursery School, we promote learning through hands-on experiences, play, and teacher directed activities. We want to provide each child with a variety of experiences to explore the world around them and guide them through the Early Childhood Education journey.
Full time - 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
Responsibilities:
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum aligned with MA Early Learning Guidelines
- Foster a nurturing classroom environment that supports child welfare and encourages student engagement.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
- Mentor and support assistant teachers, providing guidance on instructional strategies and classroom management.
- Assess student performance regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom at all times including abiding by MA EEC classroom ratios and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Teacher or Lead Teacher certified according to the MA Department of EEC
- High School diploma, required; Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, preferred
- Proven experience in curriculum development and teaching, particularly in early childhood settings or private schools.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and early intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies to support diverse learners effectively.
- A passion for education and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
- EEC Essentials 2.0 modules completed before school begins
- Suitable BRC by MA EEC
- Experience with toddlers or young school age children a plus
