Summary: The primary requirements for the Warehouse Team Member is to perform a wide variety of tasks involved in the distribution and light manufacturing of diesel engine component parts. This position reports to a Department Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or lift truck.
- Perform cycle count duties and records actual results within the assigned area.
- Retrieves stock to fulfill orders by locating, selecting, and stacking product(s) from the warehouse.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Reads orders to determine the type and quantity of items needed to be picked, moved, distributed, or packaged.
- Ensures that orders are accurately shipped.
- Records information, such as weight, time, and date packaged.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Measures work piece dimensions, using rule, template, or other measuring instruments to determine accuracy of machine operation.
- Informs supervisor of differences in product descriptions or quantities
- Must be familiar with company standard shipping and/or receiving practices, use of shipping and/or receiving documents, and maintenance records.
- Utilize appropriate safety equipment and work techniques.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
- Keep work area clean.
Required Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Stand, squat and bend for prolonged periods of time.
- Work and move among departments. Excellent hand/eye coordination.
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 40 pounds repetitively.
- Manual dexterity pack, unpack and sort.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Previous experience within a distribution environment a plus.
- Certified operator of all material handling equipment including but not limited to Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, Walkie Riders, and sit-down lift trucks.
- Must have order picker experience
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English to promote trainability and interpret work documents including manuals.
- Basic math skills, such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals to read understand and operate measurement instruments and work documents.
- High energy level, comfortable handling multiple tasks in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
- Good interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible.
- Good reasoning abilities, sound judgment.
- Good communication skills.
- Resourceful and well organized.
- Able to perform without direct supervision
Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
