Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Data Manager to lead our organization's data strategy, governance, and management initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the collection, storage, analysis, and dissemination of data across multiple departments. Duties
- Adhere to established processes, procedures and standards to maintain existing and create new inventory item master records and ensure the integrity and accuracy of these records in SAP and Shopify
- Ensure that data records are accurate and complete by exporting inventory records from SAP and Shopify weekly
- Compare price, inventory quantity, images and tags to identify discrepancies between the two systems and report required corrections to the appropriate department manager
- Maintain a master pricelist that will feed to all of the company’s subsidiary pricelists
- Confirm that remarks fields include packaging instructions, discontinuation instructions and retired item information if applicable
- Identify closeout items that have gone out of stock and report them to the appropriate warehouse manager to be confirmed and made inactive in SAP and Shopify
- Report activities that consistently corrupt data integrity or have the potential to corrupt data integrity to the appropriate manager
- Import new and revised item records into SAP & Shopify
- Use shipment draft reports to model and expedite the establishment of final pricing for all goods in transit
- Provide logistical information for goods in transit
- Container information, estimated time of arrival by item and order
- Coordinate with the IT Specialist to ensure that software & hardware updates do not negatively impact data integrity
- Report purchasing and sales activity to the Director of Sales and Finance
- Provide weekly sales analysis by salesperson
- Provide weekly sales analysis by sales channel
- Mardi POS, Mardi online, Wholesale, Plush and Custom
- Provide weekly purchase order analysis by order number and reference related incoming ocean freight
- Provide weekly open sales and purchase order analysis by department
- Report Inventory and order activity to the Purchasing Department
- Provide weekly inventory analysis by item number for the Mardi and Plush warehouse
- Monitor the retail price, estimated landed and profit margin of sale items being re-ordered
- Report any required inventory adjustments to the appropriate department manager
- All other tasks as needed and assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: College degree in business or related field
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in data management with a medium to large company
Skills and Capabilities:
- Ability to efficiently and accurately process large volumes of information within a specified period of time
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks effectively and timely
- Ability to prioritize and manage daily workflow to meet goals and deadlines
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Ability to interface well with all departments within the company
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, goals-driven environment that emphasizes a friendly culture and ownership of work responsibilities
- Insight to know when other departments need to be informed of changes in data standards
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and initiative to provide policy and standards enforcement
- Advanced computer skills required in Microsoft Office Suite especially excel pivot tables and vlookup functions
