Job Summary
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in promoting and restoring patients' health. Your responsibilities include respiratory assessments, monitoring, clinical intervention for patients under our care. This role is designed for a Respiratory Therapist who is confident working independently, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and assisting in the reduction of avoidable hospital readmissions.
Pay Rate
Pay Rate: $35-$40 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities
As a Respiratory Therapist, your responsibilities include:
Provide appropriate treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of respiratory function possible within the confines of his/her physical condition
Evaluate, treat, and care for residents with respiratory problems including but not limited to those with tracheostomies including the administration of bland aerosols and suctioning
Evaluate resident care and resident outcomes as they relate to respiratory care; analyze outcomes and make recommendations for changes in the plan of care based upon the analysis
Recommend and/or provide appropriate treatment and preventative measures to prevent decline in resident's respiratory function
Management and weaning of supplemental oxygen
Management and weaning of trachs
Assist with pulmonary rehab modalities
Perform all aspects of direct respiratory patient care
Provide appropriate resident or caregiver education to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of respiratory function possible within the confines of his/her physical abilities
Operate respiratory care equipment safely and effectively
Participate in providing staff education
Maintain appropriate respiratory supply stock
Assist nursing staff when required
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
To excel as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT), you will need:
Required Qualifications:
- Active CRT or RRT credentials
- Active license in good standing with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- CPR certified required; ACLS preferred
- Experience in Long Term Care is preferred
- Experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a Home Health, LTACH, or any sub-acute setting is a plus
- This position is not a remote position
Skills:
- Exceptional clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, and physiological knowledge.
- Proficiency in administering medication and maintaining health promotion and maintenance.
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills with the ability to work effectively in a medical team.
- Multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities.
