Overview
We are a private preschool-8th grade faith based school located in Brighton, CO. We are urgently hiring for 2 after school positions. We are looking for fun and energetic teachers to join our team!
The after school teacher plays a vital role in supporting the educational environment by teaching students in various capacities. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and child development, and who thrive in a collaborative setting. The after school assistant teacher will work closely with students to foster a positive learning atmosphere, providing guidance and support to enhance their educational experience.
We are currently hiring for 2 afternoon positions. One position is for a school aged teachers aide. The shift is 2:30-5:00 Monday-Friday. You would work alongside a lead teacher and would help with snack preparation and serving, homework help and general supervision. No experience required for this position, though it is preferred.
The second position we are hiring for is a lead teacher with our preschool aged students (3-5 years old). The shift is 2:00-5:00 Monday-Friday. Level 2 on PDIS or ECT equivalent required.
There are occasional days where our grade school is closed, but daycare is still open. You can get more hours on these days if you wish.
Responsibilities
- Preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
- Supervise students during classroom activities and recess to ensure safety and engagement.
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to students needing additional support in their studies. Assisting with homework help.
- Help manage student behavior by implementing behavior management strategies as directed by the lead teacher.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff regarding student progress and needs.
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational settings is preferred.
- Strong background in childcare, early childhood education, elementary education or tutoring is an asset, but not required for the aide position.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support diverse learning needs.
- Familiarity with first aid practices is beneficial for ensuring student safety.
- A background in Christian education is preferred.
