Infant Teacher (10–18 Months) | Reggio Emilia–Inspired Early Learning Program
We're looking for a caring, thoughtful, and team-oriented Infant Teacher to join our Reggio Emilia–inspired early learning community, working with children between 10 and 18 months of age.
This remarkable period of development is filled with first experiences, growing relationships, and endless opportunities for discovery. Infants learn through movement, play, exploration, communication, and meaningful interactions with others. We believe every child is capable, competent, and naturally curious. Our educators carefully observe, listen, and respond to each child's interests, creating experiences that encourage confidence, connection, and joyful learning.
Position Overview
As an Infant Teacher, you will create a nurturing classroom where children feel safe, secure, and encouraged to explore at their own pace. You'll build strong partnerships with families and colleagues while supporting each infant's emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development through responsive caregiving and intentional teaching.
By observing children's interests and developmental progress, you'll help shape meaningful learning experiences that celebrate each child's unique journey.
Responsibilities
- Foster a caring and engaging classroom where infants feel welcomed, respected, and confident exploring their environment.
- Develop trusting relationships with children through responsive, consistent, and compassionate care.
- Observe, document, and reflect on children's learning, interests, and developmental progress.
- Plan inviting sensory experiences and open-ended activities that encourage curiosity, movement, and discovery.
- Support early language development through conversation, play, songs, reading, and responsive interactions.
- Work collaboratively with fellow educators to reflect on classroom experiences and strengthen teaching practices.
- Build positive partnerships with families through open communication and shared support of each child's development.
- Respect individual routines, developmental timelines, and the unique needs of every child.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with infants, preferably ages 10–18 months.
- Brings warmth, patience, and genuine enthusiasm for working with young children.
- Appreciates observation, reflection, and relationship-based teaching.
- Is familiar with—or excited to learn about—the Reggio Emilia approach.
- Communicates effectively and enjoys working collaboratively.
