Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dependable Transport Driver to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of vehicles to transport passengers and goods efficiently and reliably. Whether driving shuttle buses, delivery vans, or personal vehicles, you will play a key part in maintaining our reputation for safety, professionalism, and outstanding service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of vehicles including shuttle buses, delivery vans, limousines, and personal vehicles in accordance with all state transportation regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting passengers or clients courteously and professionally during pickups, drop-offs, or deliveries.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure safety and optimal performance.
- Load and unload cargo or equipment with proper manual handling techniques to prevent injury and damage.
- Follow scheduled routes precisely while adapting to traffic conditions and unforeseen delays proactively.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, or team members to coordinate schedules and address any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, shuttle driver, bus driver, or similar role involving commercial driving.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (must have a CDL, class A) for buses or heavy vehicles).
- Knowledge of state transportation regulations and safety standards applicable to commercial driving.
- Experience with manual handling of cargo or equipment is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to interact confidently with passengers and team members.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Demonstrated reliability with a clean driving record; experience in paratransit or school bus driving is a plus.
