Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Charge Registered Nurse (RN) for weekend day shifts to lead nursing teams in our correctional healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Charge RN, you will oversee daily nursing operations, coordinate patient assessments, and ensure compliance with healthcare standards while fostering a positive team environment.
Duties
- Provide direct supervision of nursing staff during weekend day shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care delivery.
- Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and documentation in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Oversee medication administration, IV infusions, wound care including suturing, and other nursing procedures with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with diverse needs such as behavioral health, geriatrics, or acute pain management.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or Epic.
- Facilitate triage assessments for incoming patients or inmates requiring urgent care or specialized interventions such as dialysis or cardiac catheterization.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives by adhering to NCQA standards, ICD coding practices, and infection control protocols to uphold safety and regulatory compliance.
Experience
- Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current CPR certificate
- Proficient with electronic medical records
- Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen
