ROLE
The Connections Director is a pastoral, people-first leader, responsible for guiding every person who walks through Mission Church's doors - from a guest's first visit in the parking lot to becoming a fully engaged Partner. This role leads the strategy, systems, and people that make connection to Mission Church clear, compelling, and transformational.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Connections Strategy & Leadership
- Own the end-to-end Connections process from parking lot to Partner
- Lead strategy to increase engagement through tours, teams, and first-step opportunities
- Ensure the Connections process is clear, visible, and effective for every age and stage - from Students to Legacy
- Strategically guide new guests and disengaged attenders to Gather Differently
- Maintain a pastoral heart for people throughout every stage of the process
- Engage crucial conversations and pastoral meetings with people plugging into Mission Church
- Own all operations within the Connections Team, coordinating closely with the Operations Team
Volunteer Team Building
- Vision Casting - compels volunteers toward belief and participation in Gather, Grow, Go
- Actively recruit volunteers for the weekend church experience
- Execute midweek and weekend onboarding opportunities for Connections Team volunteers
- Conduct weekly one-on-one discipleship meetings with volunteers
- Lead and pastor through truth, love, and crucial conversations
- Build and improve the Connections Team leadership structure
- Schedule Connections teams for weekends and Growth Track seasons
- Connect Connections volunteers to their next step on the Growth Track
Baptism & Growth Track
- Execute a clear and effective baptism process from registration to execution to a clear next step
- Oversight of next-step connections for those who have been baptized
- Oversight of one Baptism Weekend per year
- Have a presence in the Partner Course to help move guests to Teams
Communication & Vision
- Lead Connections volunteer huddles with clarity and vision
- Articulate Mission's Mission, Vision, and Values with compelling confidence
- Prepare and cast vision for Team Nights and Team events
Events & Gatherings
- Lead Connections Team events
- Provide people and logistical oversight for large Baptism Weekends (1x per year)
- Leverage the Connections team to support Partner Gatherings and Growth Track kickoffs
Growth & Expansion
- Design a plan for the spatial presence of the Connections Team throughout the facility
- Create connection opportunities for new guests to engage tours and get plugged into Kids, Student, and volunteer ministries
- Lead New Guest Gatherings - adding personal touch while tracking engagement
Connections Coordinator
- Lead, manage and develop one Connections Coordinator staff member who will assist in the job responsibilities of the Connections Director - including Baptism, scheduling, New Guest Gatherings, and Communication
Attend & Be Prepared for Regular Meetings
- WIG (Widely Important Goal) - as needed
- Weekend Rundown - Thursdays
- Hour of Power (HOP) - monthly on Wednesdays
- 1-on-1 with Managing Director - bi-monthly
- All-Staff Meetings - 3x per year

EXPERIENCE
- Previous pastoral ministry experience (3+ years full-time preferred)
- Proven ability to lead, recruit, and develop volunteer teams of 50 or more
- Track record of creating a culture of growth and team development
- Experience providing oversight to 100+ volunteers
- 3 or more direct reports managed
- Demonstrated success writing and accomplishing organizational goals
- Built systems for staff and volunteer engagement
EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree preferred with 3+ years of full-time ministry experience
- Leadership experience with volunteer teams of 50 or more
