ARMED PATROL OFFICERS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY
Metro Protection Services is seeking skilled, professional Armed Patrol Officers to join our elite team serving the Portland–Vancouver metro area. As one of the region’s fastest-growing security providers, we deliver high-impact armed and unarmed on-site protection, along with proactive armed patrol services throughout the Greater Portland region.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Armed Patrol Officer serves as a visible deterrent to crime and unsafe behavior while ensuring the safety and security of client properties. This position is responsible for conducting systematic patrols, inspecting facilities, monitoring access points, and responding to incidents with professionalism and sound judgment. Officers help maintain a secure environment for employees, residents, visitors, and property through consistent vigilance and accurate reporting.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct regular vehicle and/or foot patrols of designated areas
- Monitor entrances, exits, and perimeters for unauthorized access or suspicious activity
- Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, incidents, and emergencies
- Assist and provide guidance to employees, residents, visitors, and contractors
- Check windows, doors, gates, and access points to ensure they are secure
- Document and report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and incidents accurately
- Write clear, concise reports using proper spelling and grammar
- Deter and report criminal or unsafe behavior
- Enforce site-specific rules, regulations, and policies
- Operate and maintain company patrol vehicles in compliance with policies and regulations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and law enforcement
- Use communication devices such as radios, cell phones, and reporting apps
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid, current DPSST Armed Guard License
- Minimum 3 years of experience in security, military, or law enforcement
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Own gear to include duty belt, vest, OC spray, taser, firearm
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Occasional kneeling, stooping, crouching, or crawling
- Ability to move and/or lift at least 30 lbs
- Strong vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus)
- Ability to safely use restraints during apprehension when necessary
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Exposure to stressful or emergency situations
- Varying outdoor conditions including heat and cold
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, listening
