Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. BronxCare has an opening for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. Our NICU is level 3B NICU with an average daily census of 10-20 babies.Individual candidate requires recent NICU bedside nursing experience and an NNP degree.
Duties
- Attendance at deliveries, and stabilization, intubation, and management of sick premature and term newborns.
- Intubation, UA/UV, PICC line placement and blood draws.
- NNP will work with a team of house physicians and neonatologists making daily rounds with pediatric residents, writing orders, procedure notes and some admission notes.
- NNP will occasionally assist in emergencies in, and evaluations of transfers from Newborn Nursery.
- There is expected participation in Division and Departmental meetings and Grand Rounds.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, and licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in the state of New York.
- Current Nurse Practitioner certification and state licensure to practice.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, infection control protocols, and specimen collection processing.
- Experience in NICU is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address complex patient needs.

Pay: From $148,255.06 per year
