Care Hawaii is seeking a compassionate and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Licensed Crisis Residential Services. The RN will work under the supervision of the Medical Director, Nursing Director, Nursing Supervisor, and Qualified Mental Health Professional to address consumers' emergent nursing and psychiatric needs. Responsibilities include facilitating admissions, initial assessments, collaborating with hospitals and ER departments, and supporting day-to-day residential programming.
Position Qualifications:
- Education: Master's, Bachelor's, or Associate degree in nursing.
- Experience: Four years of nursing experience, with at least one year in psychiatric/behavioral health.
- Certifications: Must be licensed in Hawaii, with CPR, First Aid, CPI, TB clearance, Physical, and Basic Life Support certifications.
Job Competencies:
- Required Skills: Mature, reliable, culturally sensitive, and knowledgeable in ethics, HIPAA standards, and problem-solving.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word Suite and basic office equipment.
- Working Environment: Ability to work indoors/outdoors with potential exposure to infectious diseases.
- Special Demands: Strong commitment to supporting individuals with severe mental illness in community living and employment.
Consumers Served: Adults diagnosed with serious mental illness (SMI) aged 18 and over.
Physical Demands:
1. Assist consumers with physical disabilities.
2. Provide direct consumer care and effective communication.
3. Facilitate rehabilitative groups and follow instructions.
4. Frequent reading of printed materials and effective listening skills.
5. Assist clients in daily activities and chores.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and coordinate activities of the case management team.
- Develop and revise treatment goals and plans.
- Provide supportive therapy and symptom management.
- Educate and support participants' families and advocate for their rights.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and maintain treatment coordination.
- Perform shift management and on-call intervention.
- Document participant progress and maintain permanent records.
- Participate in staff meetings and provide medication administration education.
- Organize and manage medication systems and medical supplies.
- Support clients with social, vocational, and daily living needs.
- Maintain a positive attitude and manage crisis situations.
- Participate in health and safety requirements and training.
Other Duties:
- Assist with quality improvement and conflict resolution.
- Prepare reports and perform other assigned tasks.
