Role Summary
As part of our journey to improve the quality of our coffee and overall service at The French Workshop, we are excited to announce our newest Coffee Operations Manager role.
The Coffee Operations Manager will be overseeing and advising each location by curating a training plan for the baristas. This includes (and is not limited to) functions such as behind-the-counter training, quality control, and equipment maintenance.
This role will require you to curate seasonal drinks to add to the menu throughout the year, coordinate with store managers to develop a seamless training process for new hires, and perform routine inspections to ensure quality control.
Coordinating with the store managers throughout our several locations is crucial in improving the structure and quality of our coffee culture. This will assist in standardizing our procedures.
Hourly Pay Rate:
$ 22-24
Core Responsibilities
Training & Development
- Train all new baristas on The French Workshop's coffee recipes, beverage preparation, and service standards.
- Conduct hands-on training in espresso extraction, milk steaming, latte art, and beverage presentation.
- Develop and maintain standardized training materials, manuals, and SOPs.
- Evaluate trainee progress and provide constructive coaching and performance feedback.
- Conduct refresher training sessions for existing team members to reinforce company standards.
Quality Assurance
- Visit all five locations on a regular schedule to ensure consistency in beverage quality and execution.
- Perform quality audits on espresso, brewed coffee, teas, and specialty beverages.
- Ensure recipes, portioning, and presentation meet company standards.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective action plans.
Operational Support
- Assist store managers during new store openings, staffing transitions, or periods of high business volume.
- Monitor workflow and recommend operational improvements to increase efficiency.
- Ensure all bar equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Work alongside management to minimize waste and maximize product quality.
Coffee Program Management
- Maintain consistency in espresso dialing, grinder calibration, and brewing procedures across all locations.
- Monitor coffee freshness, inventory rotation, and storage practices.
- Collaborate with leadership on seasonal beverage launches and recipe implementation.
- Introduce new beverage techniques and industry best practices.
Leadership & Coaching
- Lead by example through professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
- Mentor baristas to build confidence and technical skills.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages growth and accountability.
- Partner with store managers to identify high-potential employees for advancement.
Travel & Multi-Location Support
- Travel regularly between all five French Workshop locations based on business needs.
- Adapt training methods to each store while maintaining company-wide consistency.
- Provide detailed reports to leadership following store visits, including observations, action items, and follow-up recommendations.
- Serve as the primary resource for beverage quality and barista development across all locations.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of specialty coffee or café experience.
- Previous experience training or mentoring baristas.
- Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk texturing, brewing methods, grinder calibration, and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Ability to travel frequently between all five locations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Experience:
- Café: 1 year (Preferred)
- Barista training : 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (Preferred)
