Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to provide high-quality outpatient psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families throughout Florida. The ideal candidate practices from an integrative, evidence-based approach tailored to each client's unique needs. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to independently manage a caseload, scheduling, documentation, and treatment planning while maintaining compliance with state and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual, couples, family, and/or group psychotherapy using integrative, evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and establish accurate diagnoses.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain a consistent caseload while providing ethical, client-centered care.
- Independently schedule, confirm, and manage client appointments.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including:
- Intake assessments
- Progress notes
- Treatment plans
- Discharge summaries
- Risk assessments
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) or clinical software for documentation, scheduling, and case management.
- Monitor client progress and modify treatment interventions as clinically appropriate.
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and Florida regulations.
- Respond appropriately to clinical crises and coordinate referrals when needed.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and community resources as appropriate.
- Participate in clinical supervision, consultation, staff meetings, and continuing education opportunities.
- Maintain active Florida licensure and fulfill all continuing education requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in good standing.
- Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related behavioral health field.
- Knowledge of Florida mental health laws, HIPAA regulations, and professional ethical standards.
- Experience providing psychotherapy across diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high clinical standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trauma-informed care.
- Familiarity with insurance documentation and medical necessity requirements.
- Experience using Jane, a plus but not required.
