We are seeking an experienced CNC Laser Operator with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on machining experience in a production or job shop environment. The ideal candidate must be capable of independently setting up and operating CNC Fiber Laser machines for a wide variety of parts and materials while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines for production and custom fabrication work.
- Load, verify, and manage CNC programs at the machine control.
- Set material offsets, machine parameters, and establish proper machine zero points.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and cutting layouts.
- Perform machine setups including material loading, nozzle changes, lens inspection, and machine calibration.
- Monitor cutting operations to ensure dimensional accuracy, edge quality, and production efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments and quality control procedures.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning as required.
- Troubleshoot cutting, programming, and machine performance issues.
- Sort, label, and organize completed parts for downstream operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of CNC laser operating and setup experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of CNC machine controls and laser cutting processes.
- Ability to work with a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Experience setting machine parameters and optimizing cutting performance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a job shop, fabrication, or metal manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Bystronic, Trumpf, Amada, Mazak, Mitsubishi, or similar laser systems.
- Experience with nesting software and basic program editing.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Understanding of laser cutting gases, nozzle selection, and machine maintenance procedures.
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
