KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
Marketing, Engagement, and Brand Management
-
Develop and implement department-wide marketing strategies to support program enrollment, events, and initiatives
-
Establish and maintain consistent branding across digital, print, and public-facing materials
-
Evaluate campaign performance and adjust strategies to improve participation and engagement
Digital Communications & Public Engagement
-
Manage and update website content and structure
-
Oversee social media strategy, content creation, and community engagement
-
Coordinate public-facing communications related to programs, events, and department initiatives
Program Support & Community Outreach
-
Collaborate with program staff to design marketing and outreach strategies that support enrollment goals
-
Develop initiatives to increase participation across programs and community events
-
Represent the department at community events and outreach opportunities
Grant & Sponsorship Development
-
Research, write, and submit grant applications; coordinate internal data collection
-
Track grant outcomes and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
-
Develop and manage a sponsorship program to support programs and events
-
Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community partners
-
Track sponsorship revenue and performance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS-
Ability to clearly read, write, and communicate information such as policies, reports, and public-facing materials
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
-
Ability to calculate percentages, averages, and use basic data analysis to inform decisions
-
Proficiency with word processing, formatting, editing, spreadsheets (including filters, pivot tables, and reporting), and basic design or data-tracking tools
-
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
-
Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, recreation, or a related field and two to three years of relevant professional experience
or an equivalent combination of education and experience -
Experience in municipal government and/or parks and recreation is preferred
CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS-
American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain)

Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred or ability to obtain within one year
