Summary :
The near-term assignment includes work on energy design projects on the Engineering team, including site civil design for solar projects and battery storage, preparation of Site Plan and variance applications, preparation of curb cut and highway permits and supporting materials, and mining earthwork design and volume calculations. Support for these projects will also include site visits for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections. In addition, responsibilities will include performing quarterly stormwater monitoring at industrial sites located in Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Proficient in CAD drafting to Prepare detailed design documents including: plans technical specs, calculations, reports, permits, accurately and timely.
- Perform bid review, assist with proposal preparation
- Communicate project status and potential issues with clients professionally. Interact with team members, project manager, hydrogeologists, admin, subs, contractors, regulatory agencies.
- Attentive to project budgets and deadlines, stay current on related technical issues.
- Maintain communication documentation and project file
- Begin to develop project management skills (proposal preparation, project scope/budget/schedule, etc.)
- Assist with preparation of monthly invoices.
- Ability to travel to project sites - primarily central and western New York
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with rapid turnaround times to meet critical deadlines for submissions to municipal boards
Willing to work off-hours, as needed, to facilitate weather-dependent stormwater monitoring.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: All degrees must be from an ABET accredited program.
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree
- 3 years of experience with site design and planning
- 4-year Engineering Technology Degree, successful passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE) and PE are a plus, but not required
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum three - five years' experience
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- MUST BE proficient in AutoCAD and preferably Civil 3D.
- Proficient in SWPPP design and report preparation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform field work including walking, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, lifting, and bending.
- Stamina to walk, stand, hike, and collect samples for extended periods in varied terrain and weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Dexterity to handle small tools and field equipment with precision.
Willingness to wear appropriate PPE including hard hat, safety-toe boots, gloves, masks, and safety glasses.

Salary Range:
$80,000 - $100,000 Depending on Experience
