Kemit Academy is a year-round program. We are looking for fun and energetic Teachers who are team players. Lead Teachers must possess a minimum of an Associate's Degree, although a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, in a child-related field. Candidates must lead with a positive attitude and great interpersonal skills. In addition, all DCFS requirements must be met.
Lead Teacher daily duties include:
● Developing lesson plans
● Meeting the individual needs of the children
● Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
● Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning ● Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
● Using assessment tools
Lead Teachers are responsible for compliance with industry-leading Quality Assurance standards. Lead Teachers write and implement their own lesson plans based on Illinois State Early Childhood Developmental Guidelines and monthly school themes. Most importantly, they create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s Degree (minimum), 6-9 ECE credits or CDA with 12 ECE credits
- 2 years of related work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Friendly and approachable demeanor
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times
Experience:
Teaching: 2 years (Preferred)
Education:

Pay: $18.50 - $24.00 per hour
