Furniture Delivery, Receiving & Showroom Associate
Full-Time | Encinitas & Solana Beach
Pay: $22.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience
Expected Hours: 30–40 per week
Thrive Interiors is a locally owned furniture, home décor and interior design business with locations in Encinitas and Solana Beach. We are a small, hands-on team with a family-style environment where teamwork matters and everyone pitches in.
We’re looking for a dependable, organized and handy person to join our team. This is a varied, hands-on position that includes receiving and checking in new inventory, organizing merchandise, furniture assembly and showroom support, customer deliveries, vendor pickups and assisting our designers with installations.
Every day can be a little different, so we need someone who enjoys staying busy, takes initiative and can work independently without needing constant direction.
What You'll Do
Receiving & Inventory
A large part of this position is making sure incoming merchandise is received accurately and gets where it needs to go.
- Receive furniture, décor, artwork and customer orders from freight carriers, UPS/FedEx and vendors.
- Check incoming merchandise against packing lists and purchase orders for accuracy.
- Inspect items for damage and report any issues.
- Identify and process customer special orders.
- Unbox, assemble and tag merchandise for the showroom.
- Organize our backroom and storage areas and pull merchandise as needed.
- Assist with inventory counts and checks.
Deliveries, Pickups & Installations
- Pull, inspect, wrap, load and secure customer orders.
- Make local customer deliveries, including threshold and in-home delivery.
- Place and assemble furniture in customers' homes.
- Assist our designers with installations, including furniture placement, hanging artwork, unpacking and final setup.
- Pick up furniture and merchandise from vendors throughout San Diego, Orange County and the Los Angeles area.
- Transfer merchandise between our Encinitas and Solana Beach locations.
- Load purchases into customers' vehicles.
Showroom Support
- Assemble furniture and handle minor adjustments and general fixes.
- Move and place furniture, artwork and décor as our showrooms change.
- Hang artwork, mirrors and displays.
- Confidently use basic hand and power tools.
- Restock merchandise and help keep our stores clean, organized and looking great.
- Help with general projects and maintenance around the showrooms.
Customer Interaction
This is a customer-facing position, so a friendly, professional attitude is important. You'll interact with customers during deliveries, installations and pickups and should be comfortable working respectfully in customers' homes.
Who We're Looking For
- Dependable, organized and detail-oriented.
- Able to work independently and take initiative.
- Handy and mechanically inclined.
- Comfortable assembling furniture and hanging artwork and mirrors.
- Confident using basic hand and power tools.
- Careful when handling furniture, artwork and customers' belongings.
- Friendly and professional when interacting with customers.
- Comfortable driving a company cargo van, including trips to Orange County and Los Angeles.
- Willing to jump in and help wherever needed—we are a small team and value people who work together.
Requirements & Schedule
- Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push and maneuver furniture, boxes and merchandise up to approximately 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Comfortable being on your feet and performing physical work throughout the day.
- Available to work between our Encinitas and Solana Beach locations.
- Some weekend availability is required.
Typical Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with some weekend hours as needed.

Previous experience with furniture receiving, inventory, warehouse operations, furniture delivery, assembly, installation, moving, handyman work, retail or home furnishings is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
