- The initial compensation for this position ranges from $131,940 - $162,270 annually; depending on experience, location, and internal equity considerations.

Overview:
Under the general direction of the Program Director or designee, and in collaboration with a psychiatrist, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides independent psychiatric care and in autonomous collaboration with other healthcare professionals in psychiatric clinical settings to a specified population consumers. Ensures proper mental health treatment including psychiatric evaluation, differential diagnosing, and psychiatric medication management.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts independent psychiatric evaluations and assessments for assigned clients.

Provides differential diagnoses and develops individualized treatment plans.

Prescribes and manages psychiatric medications in collaboration with a psychiatrist.

Monitors patient progress, response to treatment, and modifies care plans as needed.

Consults with clinical teams to support comprehensive mental health care.

Collaborates with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers in multidisciplinary settings.

Educates patients and families about mental health conditions, treatments, and medication.

Maintains accurate, timely documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.

Participates in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.

Provides clinical guidance and support to staff when requested.

Ensures care is consistent with best practices and complies with legal and ethical guidelines.
Qualifications:

Certified Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry with a minimum of two (2) years of psychiatric experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (two years of relevant experience equals one year of education)

Active registration in good standing with the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).

Completion of a nurse practitioner program that meets BRN standards.

Possession and maintenance of the following credentials:

CA BRN certification

National Provider Identifier (NPI)

Furnishing number

DEA registration

Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) Certification

Experience with psychiatric assessments, medication education, and psychotropic medication management in community mental health.

Familiarity with clinical protocols and the ability to follow standardized procedures outlined in the NP manual.

Valid California driver’s license and an insurable driving record under the clinic’s liability policy.
