Duties
- Perform on-site repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles including trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, and forklifts.
- Conduct roadside diagnostics to identify issues quickly using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools; execute necessary repairs or coordinate towing if required.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or replace components such as transmissions, brakes, shocks & struts, suspensions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and air brakes.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform soldering or wiring repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Complete detailed service reports documenting repairs performed; communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and maintenance recommendations.
- Assist with tire service including mounting/dismounting tires and performing wheel alignments when necessary.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications while demonstrating heavy lifting techniques safely.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Mobile Mechanic with roadside assistance experience; dealership experience is highly preferred.
- Proven mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, heavy equipment operation, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and power tools use.
- Experience working with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams; ability to read technical manuals confidently.
- Hands-on experience with diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, HVAC systems, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various outdoor environments; familiarity with tire service procedures is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to vehicle maintenance and roadside operations; valid driver’s license with clean driving record required. Pay: $13.50 - $38.50 per hour
