Schedule
This position requires availability for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but you will typically work 2 of those 3 days each week.
- Family's schedule rotates weekly.
- The specific two days are provided several weeks in advance.
- Applicants must be available for all three potential weekdays.
Summer Hours
- 12:10 PM – 10:00 PM
- Must arrive promptly by 12:10 PM to receive the child from transportation after summer programming.
School Year Hours
Weekend Hours
- Saturdays and Sunday's
- 8AM - 8PM or 8AM - 6PM (10 or 12 hours)
Additional hours are often available.
Rate:
LPN: $35-$40/hr
RN: $50-$55/hr
About the Client
We are seeking a nurse for a pediatric client with complex medical needs and behavioral challenges. Success in this role requires confidence, patience, consistency, and the ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
Medical Diagnoses
- Epilepsy
- Cerebral Palsy
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
- Chronic Constipation
Skilled Nursing Responsibilities
- Medication administration
- Tube feeding
- Seizure monitoring and care
- ADL assistance
- Ongoing assessment and documentation
- Collaboration with family and care team
Behavioral Support
The client can exhibit challenging behaviors when overstimulated or frustrated, including:
- Biting
- Scratching
- Kicking
- Physical resistance
As the client grows, these behaviors can become physically demanding. However, caregivers familiar with the client's routine have been successful using:
- Redirection
- Distraction techniques
- Calm, therapeutic communication
- Allowing brief periods of space when appropriate
We are looking for a nurse who understands that these behaviors are forms of communication—not personal—and can respond professionally and compassionately.

Qualifications
- Current Maryland RN or LPN license
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Experience with G-tubes preferred
- Experience with seizure disorders preferred
- Experience supporting children with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges strongly preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass all employment screening requirements
