POSITION SUMMARY
A construction superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily operations on construction projects, managing field personnel, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications. Superintendents are the lead on-site managers for construction projects. The superintendent will also be responsible for tracking onsite responsibilities with the in office project manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Oversee all on-site construction activities from start to completion
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and construction crews
- Monitor project schedules and ensure deadlines are met
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Enforce OSHA and company safety policies on the job site
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance
- Schedule material deliveries, equipment usage, and workforce needs
- Resolve job site issues, delays, and conflicts quickly and effectively
- Maintain daily reports, progress logs, and project documentation
- Communicate regularly with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients
- Manage inspections and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations
- Track productivity, labor costs, and project progress

- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and perform in a fast-paced work environment
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines efficiently and cost effectively
- Work with the project manager (main office) to coordinate day to day tasks without onsite support.

- Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records.
- Keen attention to detail and a high level of initiative.
- Manage onsite situations as they arrive as well as coordinate with everyone onsite in a calm manner.
QUALIFICATIONS (The training, education and/or experience necessary to fulfill the job)
- 3+ years’ construction industry experience preferred
- High School diploma/GED preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
- Compliance with all OSHA and other federal agency regulations
- Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
- Wiliness to learn and adapt to the crew currently on-site.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, hard hats, safety (hard toe) shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and coveralls.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, climb, balance, twist, pull, push, have hand/finger dexterity and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
- Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in various weather conditions.
- Vision abilities (with or without correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to work in all weather conditions including, but not limited to, heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, etc.
- Must be able to exert up to 10-20 lbs. constantly to move objects; 25-50 lbs. of force frequently; 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
