We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Orthotics Fitter who will also manage patient intake and front-office coordination. This hybrid role combines hands-on patient care with administrative support, ensuring every patient receives a professional, efficient, and positive experience.
Evaluate patients for appropriate orthotic devices (bracing, supports, post-operative devices, etc.)
Take accurate measurements and perform proper fitting and adjustments
Educate patients on device use, wear schedule, care, and safety
Document all fittings, patient interactions, and clinical notes accurately
Follow clinical protocols and collaborate with practitioners, therapists, and physicians
Maintain inventory, organize stock, and prepare devices for fittings
Monitor patient follow-up needs and outcomes
Greet patients and provide excellent customer service (phone, email, in-person)
Gather patient demographics, insurance information, referrals, and authorizations
Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations when required
Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow
Upload/scan documentation and maintain accurate electronic records
Communicate with doctors’ offices, case managers, and patients regarding care plans
Assist with billing documentation and clinical paperwork
Ensure HIPAA and compliance standards are maintained at all times
Previous experience as an Orthotics Fitter, Medical Assistant, or similar role (preferred)
ABC/BOC Orthotic Fitter Certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred
Knowledge of orthotic devices and patient care practices
Experience with medical scheduling and/or intake
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and customer-service mindset
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
Comfortable working with EMR systems and basic computer skills
