Position Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through the development, modification, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, work instructions, quality systems, and First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation. This role partners closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and shop-floor personnel to ensure manufacturing documentation remains accurate, processes are optimized, and quality issues are effectively resolved.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process & Work Instruction Management
- Create, modify, and maintain manufacturing work instructions in accordance with approved manufacturing standards and procedures.
- Process and release work instructions through Solumina G7 approval workflows.
- Track approval status through final release and communicate changes to production personnel.
- Support process improvements, engineering changes, and business-driven manufacturing updates.
Quality Engineering Support
- Manage and track Quality Nonconformances (QN) and Blue Hold Tickets.
- Utilize ACE methodology to analyze defects, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
- Create and maintain tracking systems for quality investigations, action items, owners, and completion dates.
- Develop photographic packages and supporting documentation for quality reviews and investigations.
- Complete and document required QN tasks within SAP.
First Article Inspection (FAI)
- Develop complete FAI packages, including 8097 forms and supporting documentation.
- Ensure manufacturing documentation aligns with FAI requirements and standards.
- Coordinate package review and approval activities with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering teams.
- Update work instructions to incorporate FAI findings and compliance requirements.
Product Quality & Manufacturing Readiness
- Create Product Quality Assessment (PQA) tools and documentation.
- Support Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) initiatives using established playbooks and procedures.
- Submit quality assessments through ETQ and manage approval workflows.
- Communicate project status and readiness metrics to stakeholders.
Reporting & Project Coordination
- Maintain project schedules, milestones, and deliverable status reports.
- Provide regular technical updates and progress reports.
- Track performance metrics, completion status, and project deliverables.
- Support continuous improvement efforts within manufacturing operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, quality engineering, or aerospace manufacturing environments.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Experience with process improvement and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and engineering documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace or defense industry experience.
- Experience with Solumina G7, SAP, and ETQ systems.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
