Position Summary
Shaw Concepts is seeking an organized, hands-on Cutting Operations Lead to manage daily cutting priorities and produce components for tactical nylon equipment. This role coordinates work across Thunder Laser equipment, Sheffield hot and cold blade cutting machines, die-cut presses, and manual table cutting while ensuring quality and alignment with production schedules and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage the daily cutting schedule based on production priorities, material availability, and deadlines.
- Assign and coordinate work across laser cutting, die-press cutting, and manual table-cutting operations.
- Set up and operate Thunder Laser equipment, Sheffield hot and cold blade cutting machine, die cut presses, and manual table-cutting methods.
- Monitor output and inspect cut components for accuracy, quality, and consistency.
- Identify equipment, material, file, pattern, or capacity issues and communicate their effect on production deadlines.

Qualifications
- Strong planning, organization, and production scheduling skills.
- Experience operating manufacturing equipment and computer-based production systems.
- Ability to read cut sheets, patterns, production orders, and product specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to clearly communicate priorities and maintain accountability for quality and deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience leading cutting, machine operation, or manufacturing activities.
- Experience with laser cutting, die presses, textile cutting, LightBurn, or similar production software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive cutting and material-handling tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely lift, position, and move rolls of nylon fabric, cutting dies, and production materials.

Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position at the Shaw Concepts manufacturing facility in Opelika, Alabama. The role operates within an active production environment and requires consistent attention to safety, quality, productivity, and production deadlines.
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
