Overview
Primordial Soup, LLC (Psoup) is an ISO 13485 certified product development company located in St. Paul, MN. We design and manufacture products for companies of every shape and size and in a variety of industries, particularly medical devices. The services we provide cover the entire breadth of product development, including concept development, industrial design, mechanical design, electrical design, prototype development, functional testing, verification and validation, regulatory support and ultimately production manufacturing. Our in-house precision machine shop, co-located with designers and engineers, helps distinguish Psoup from other firms and we are looking for a Machine Shop Manager to join the team. The candidate will be responsible for managing the people and equipment of the shop and the jobs flowing through the shop and will report to the company owner.
Responsibilities
· Manage shop personnel (Manufacturing Engineers/Machinists/Programmers/Manufacturing Technicians)
· Interface with clients and potential clients.
· Participate in the DFM and process development of manufactured devices.
· Produce quotations setting the price and delivery schedule.
· Manage production and prototype jobs.
· Analyze the financial performance of the completed jobs and the shop overall.
· Select equipment and determine shop floor layout.
· Improve the shop tools and processes.
Experience
· Trade school certification for machining or associate’s degree in engineering
· A minimum of 8 years’ experience managing machine shop jobs
· Ability to interpret complex drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
· Advanced knowledge of multi-axis CNC milling and turning and tooling selection
· Experience operating under a quality system
· Good verbal and written communication skills
Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
