Rockville Day Care Association (RDCA) is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and experienced Assistant Director to join our Woodlin Child Development Center leadership team. Woodlin CDC provides programs for children ages 6 weeks - 12 years. This is a hands-on leadership position that partners with the Center Director to oversee the daily operations of a high-quality early childhood and school-age program. The Assistant Director serves as a role model for staff, supports curriculum implementation, ensures compliance with Maryland licensing regulations, builds positive relationships with families, and helps create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children and staff thrive. This position requires a collaborative leader who is organized, dependable, adaptable, and committed to providing exceptional care and education while supporting the operational needs of the center.
Minimum Requirements - Applicants must meet the qualifications established by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Office of Child Care (OCC), and RDCA Preschool and School-Age Assistant Director requirements.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Associates degree in early childhood, or related field that meets MSDE requirements with at least 15 semester hours of approved coursework OR a bachelor's degree in any field.
- Meet all MSDE/OCC coursework and experience requirements for Preschool and School-Age Directors
- Current Basic Health and Safety Training (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Experience building positive relationships with children, families, and staff
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Pay: $27.05 - $35.05 per hour
