McMahon, Schleifer & Wood, LLC is seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our team during tax season. We are looking for a knowledgeable tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients, preparing quality tax returns, and helping individuals and businesses navigate an ever-changing tax environment.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys tax preparation but prefers the flexibility of seasonal employment. Whether you're a retired CPA, an experienced tax professional looking for seasonal work, or someone seeking additional tax experience, we'd love to talk with you.
Responsibilities
- Prepare complex individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, fiduciary, and gift tax returns.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and communicate recommendations to clients and firm partners.
- Research federal and state tax issues as needed.
- Work closely with partners and staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax returns.
- Provide exceptional client service while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
- Stay current on tax law changes affecting clients.

Qualifications
- CPA license preferred, but not required for highly qualified candidates.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of recent public accounting tax experience.
- Strong knowledge of individual and business taxation.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines during tax season.
- Experience with UltraTax CS is preferred. Familiarity with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office is helpful.
