SUMMARY:
Collage Day School is a dynamic, independent private day school in the beautiful Palm Valley area of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. We are part of International School Partnership’s global community and serve students from infancy through elementary. Collage Day School is nestled on eight acres with winding nature trails and serene ponds. We are seeking a qualified and passionate Learning Specialist / Special Education Teacher who will be responsible for planning and implementing small group and individualized instruction in math and reading. This role supports both enrichment and intervention needs, working collaboratively with teachers, families, and leadership to ensure all students reach their full potential. This includes serving both high-performing students (top 10%) and students needing additional support (bottom 10%). The specialist designs and implements interventions when general classroom instruction is not sufficient, using data-driven strategies and research-based practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruction & Intervention
- Provide small group and individualized instruction in reading and math using programs such as IRLA, Eureka Math, and other research-based interventions (e.g., DIBELS, Orton-Gillingham, UFLI)
- Design and implement Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions within an MTSS framework
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with identified disabilities
- Provide both remedial support and enrichment opportunities based on student needs
- Integrate social-emotional learning and executive functioning strategies into instruction

Collaboration & Planning
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and Curriculum Coach to co-plan, co-teach, and implement effective instructional strategies
- Develop individualized academic plans and intervention strategies for students
- Attend planning meetings and contribute to curriculum development and student support strategies
- Stay current with research and best practices in education and intervention
Assessment & Progress Monitoring
- Use data (MAP Growth, IRLA, assessments) to identify student needs and guide instruction
- Progress monitor students regularly and adjust interventions accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior
- Create summary reports and communicate student progress to families and staff
Communication
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
- Provide clear expectations, schedules, and updates to students and families
- Collaborate with staff on student progress, goal setting, and transition planning
Professional Responsibilities
- Submit lesson plans and maintain organized instructional practices
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and accreditation efforts
- Engage in school community events (minimum one Collage event and one PTO event annually)
- Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and alignment with the school’s philosophy
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education or related field
- ESE Certification required
- Strong understanding of MTSS and differentiated instruction
- Experience with data-driven instruction and progress monitoring
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

SALARY/BENEFITS:
- Salary commensurate with experience. Starting at $53,000.
