Field Service Technician
Location: Buffalo / Tonawanda, NY
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year + Overtime + Bonus

Position Summary
We are seeking a Field Service Technician to support highly specialized pharmaceutical processing equipment installed at customer facilities throughout North America and internationally. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, traveling extensively, and working directly with customers to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on customer equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot system errors and equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and validation activities.
- Assist with production, testing, and customer support activities when not traveling.
- Complete service reports, technical documentation, and computerized maintenance records accurately and promptly.
- Provide on-call support as required by customer service agreements.
- Maintain a professional presence while representing the company at customer facilities.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional service and communication.
Qualifications
- Technical certificate in electro-mechanical technology, process technology, or a related discipline; OR
- Associate degree in a technical field with 3–5 years of experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial equipment; OR
- Equivalent combination of hands-on technical training and experience.
- Ability to travel up to 80%, including international travel.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining complex industrial machinery.
- Understanding of PC- and PLC-based control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience installing, commissioning, and servicing complex industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with FDA-regulated or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, packaging, automation, or process equipment.
- Familiarity with freeze-drying (lyophilization) systems is highly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under time-sensitive conditions.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and long-term customer satisfaction.
