Job Description:
As the Compounding Lead at Global Products Group, you will oversee the compounding operations and lead a team of compounding associates to ensure the efficient and accurate preparation of ingredients for gummy production. You will play a crucial role in maintaining product quality, adherence to production schedules, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Shift Available:
- 2nd shift: 2pm to 10:30pm
- 3rd shift: 10pm to 6:30am
Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Training: Supervise and train compounding associates in all aspects of ingredient preparation, mixing, and blending operations. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to ensure team members perform their duties effectively and safely.
2. Production Planning: Coordinate with production scheduling and planning teams to prioritize compounding activities and allocate resources accordingly to meet production targets and deadlines.
3. Ingredient Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and inventory management of raw materials and ingredients. Ensure accurate documentation of ingredient usage, lot numbers, and expiration dates.
4. Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures and procedures to maintain product integrity and consistency. Conduct regular inspections and audits of compounding processes and equipment to identify and address any deviations or issues.
5. Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and perform routine maintenance, repairs, and calibration of compounding equipment. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
6. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for compounding associates. Conduct regular safety training sessions and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compounding activities, including batch records, production logs, and quality assurance documentation. Generate reports and analyses to track performance metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
8. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency enhancement in compounding operations. Implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices to enhance productivity and quality.
9. Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as Production, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain, to ensure smooth workflow and communication across all stages of gummy production.
10. Leadership: Lead by example and foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning within the compounding team. Motivate and empower team members to achieve their goals and contribute to the success of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical industry.
- Strong knowledge of compounding principles, techniques, and equipment used in ingredient preparation and mixing operations.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, delegate tasks, and make decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Flexibility to work in shifts and overtime as required.
