American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring telemetry experience and ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.

Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a 78-bed short-term acute care hospital
-
Patient population includes adults and pediatrics admitted to the med/surg unit
-
Patient ratio of 1:5
-
Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)

Minimum of 3 weekends required per 6-week period
-
Possibility of being placed on call based on unit or hospital needs

Floating to other units possible based on hospital needs
-
Charting via Meditech
-
Active RN license in Indiana or a compact state license currently in hand

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Telemetry experience required

Med/Surg experience preferred; ambulatory experience also preferred

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

PALS certification must be in hand prior to starting — it is required per facility policy for all med/surg RNs due to pediatric admissions on this unit

Any time off requests must be submitted upfront; no more than 5 days of RTO will be approved for the contract

If a shift is called off, the traveler will be expected to pick up a replacement shift

Candidates who were directly employed by this facility within the past 12 months are not eligible without prior approval

Any color scrubs are accepted; a professional appearance is expected
