We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Meat & Seafood Department Supervisor for our Roy location. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our meat and seafood operations. You will ensure our display cases are pristine, fully stocked with high-quality cuts and fresh catches, and that our customers receive knowledgeable, friendly service.

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule department associates. Foster a positive, productive, and safe work environment.
- Quality Control & Preparation: Oversee the cutting, processing, and packaging of meat and seafood. Ensure specialized international cuts and whole fish are prepared to company standards.
- Inventory & Merchandising: Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory control to minimize shrink and maximize profitability. Design visually appealing display cases that attract customers.
- Sanitation & Safety: Strictly enforce all local health department regulations, food safety protocols, and OSHA guidelines. Ensure the department is consistently clean and sanitized.
- Customer Service: Actively engage with customers, answer questions regarding cuts and cooking methods, and resolve any customer concerns efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a butcher, meat cutter, or fishmonger in a retail grocery or commercial environment.
- Leadership: Minimum 1 year of experience leading a team, managing schedules, and controlling inventory/shrink.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with commercial kitchen/butcher equipment (band saws, grinders, slicers, knives).
- Cultural Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with Asian culinary cuts (e.g., pork belly, short ribs, whole fish preparation) and/or conversational skills in Mandarin, Vietnamese, or Spanish is a strong plus.
- Certifications: Must possess or be willing to obtain a Food Handler’s Permit upon hire.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, work comfortably in a refrigerated environment (35°F–40°F), and repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.

- Clear Pay Progression: Starting pay is $24.00 per hour. Upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period, you will receive a performance review with the opportunity for a pay increase to $26.00 per hour based on acceptable performance.
