- Blood Collection: Perform venipunctures and capillary draws to collect blood samples from patients.
- Patient Interaction: Explain the blood collection process to patients, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
- Sample Handling: Label and prepare blood samples for laboratory testing, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of blood collections and patient information, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all phlebotomy equipment is sterile and properly maintained, and manage inventory of supplies.
- Quality Control: Follow safety and infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
· The ideal person for this position is very solid in phlebotomy, comfortable answering phones, taking vitals, rooming patients, and helping with scheduling and prior authorizations. We are also looking for versatility and a skill set in marketing outreach, including website development and event organization. We are a small office that is seeking an energetic, present individual to establish relationships and trust with our patients and the community.
Qualifications /Training:
- Education: Completion of a phlebotomy training program is often required, along with certification from a recognized body.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
