Member Service is to assist new and existing members with their immediate, short-term, and long-term financial needs/goals through exceptional service and problem solving. This position regularly combines all aspects of member services, account opening functions, consumer lending, as well as, actively involving other member contact departments and support/back-office staff to fulfill member needs. The successful incumbent is flexible enough to greet/welcome incoming members, act as a financial services consultant and perform teller transactions.
Assist members face-to-face, by telephone or online - determine the nature of business and provide guidance promptly.
Promote Credit Union products and services.
Participate in branch sales and promotion programs.
Accept various applications, review for completeness, log accurately, and distribute to appropriate individual/work area.
Open new accounts – Explain services and benefits offered by the Credit Union to new members. Provide required disclosures.
Interview members to determine qualifying loans per policy utilizing established methods.
Assemble loan details within policy guidelines.
Submit completed loan applications exceed authorized limits to Branch Manager, Operations Officer, or CEO for approval.
Review loan decision with members (i.e., amount of loan, interest rates, payment amount, due dates, late payments, loan denial, reason for denial etc.).
Prepare subsequent and adverse action forms in accordance with the law.
Establish automated repayment in the system either through direct deposit, allotment, or recurring entry.
Ensure complete loan packet by auditing guidelines/policy.
Assist with all Teller duties as needed or required
Other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor on duty or management team.
