Direct Support Professional (DSP)

As a Direct Support Professional, you will be working with individuals with developmental disabilities, providing assistance in multiple areas, with responsibilities including:
- Assisting with daily activities such as meal preparation and planning
- Ensuring nutritional needs are met according to prescribed diet
- Assist each client, as needed, in skill development in areas such as activities of daily living
- Following the appropriate training and supervision, administer medication, as prescribed and in compliance with assigned state regulations and company policies and procedures
- Assist in areas of personal care and safety
- Provide habilitation services to each client as directed, according to each client’s individual programs and safety plans.
- Facilitate and encourage community involvement by coordinating and accompanying individuals on outings in the community.
- Provide and maintain accurate, current and thorough documentation, as assigned by each individual’s program.
- Work in a team environment to promote and model productive behaviors
Requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Minimum age of 19 years old
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance
- Complete and successfully pass all background checks, including Federal and state criminal background checks, Nebraska Sex Offender Registry, and Nebraska Adult and Child Protective Services Central Registry
Preference will be given to those with experience working with individuals who experience intellectual, behavioral and/or physical disabilities.
