Contract Psychologist - Saint Louis, MI
Care One is seeking a Psychologist to join our team for a full time opening at the Saint Louis Correctional Facility. .These professionals will provide mental health services to inmates and play a vital role in their well-being.
- Saint Louis Correctional Facility - Saint Louis, MI
- Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
- No weekends, evenings or holidays
- Compensation - $75.00/hr.

Psychologist Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for incarcerated individuals and develop appropriate treatment plans independently or in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Implement evidence-based treatment programs, facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions within the correctional setting.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress regularly, modifying treatment interventions to address changing clinical needs and behavioral outcomes.
- Provide training and professional development for facility staff, and serve as a Treatment Coordinator for assigned inmates to ensure continuity of care.
- Complete and process involuntary hospitalization petitions in compliance with legal standards, while adhering to all facility policies, procedures, and security protocols.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough medical and mental health documentation, and perform additional duties within scope of practice to support effective and secure patient care.
Psychologist Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related behavioral health field.
- Current, valid state licensure.
- Demonstrated experience conducting psychological assessments and developing individualized treatment plans, preferably within a correctional, forensic, or inpatient setting.
- Proven ability to deliver individual and group therapy using evidence-based interventions with diverse and high-risk populations.
- Strong clinical judgment with experience monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment approaches accordingly.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards related to involuntary hospitalization, patient rights, and confidentiality within secure environments.
- Experience coordinating care and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including security staff, medical providers, and administration.
- Ability to provide staff training, consultation, and leadership in a structured, security-focused environment.
- Excellent written communication skills with experience maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Ability to follow strict policies, procedures, and security protocols while maintaining professional boundaries and safety.
- Strong organizational, time management, and crisis intervention skills in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
