This is a full-time on-site role located at the Walker LAUNCH College & Career Academy on site at the Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) Campus in Rock Spring, GA, for a Culinary Instructor. The Culinary Instructor will be responsible for developing and delivering curriculum, building community and industry partnerships, providing hands-on training, and assessing student performance. The instructor will also ensure compliance with state and national guidelines and help students prepare for certification exams. The instructor will teach Dual Enrollment courses for both High School and College Credit. The instructor will be a full-time employee of Walker County Schools, but may have the opportunity to additionally teach in an adjunct role for Georgia Northwestern Technical College. The instructor must meet the qualifications for both roles.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Culinary Arts.
- Minimum of five years of food service experience or two years of supervisory and/or management experience in food service.
- Possess strong knowledge of culinary practices, nutrition, safety, and sanitation.
- ServSafe certified with the National Restaurant Association.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- American Culinary Federation certification as a Certified Culinary
Educator (C.C.E.), or certified Executive Chef (C.E.C.), or certified
Executive Pastry Chef (C.E.P.C.).
- Post-secondary teaching experience in Culinary Arts in a two-year college environment.
