Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process retail sales transactions quickly and efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product questions, product demos, and upselling opportunities
- Maintain an organized checkout area, ensuring smooth flow of transactions and proper cash handling procedures
- Stock shelves, merchandise displays, and assist with inventory management to ensure products are well-presented and available
- Use strong communication skills to engage customers, answer their inquiries politely, and promote store promotions or loyalty programs
- Demonstrate product features through demos when appropriate to enhance customer understanding and boost sales
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when handling customer calls or inquiries to maintain professionalism at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse customer needs
- Strong communication skills coupled with excellent phone etiquette for engaging with customers both in person and over the phone
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
- Ability to perform merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing displays efficiently
- Retail math skills for calculating totals, discounts, and change confidently
