Overview
Join our team as a Yard/Shop Maintenance Personal, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, organization, and efficiency of our warehouse and outdoor yard/weed control operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment, maintain a clean and secure environment, and support the seamless flow of materials and inventory. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of yard areas, shop facilities, and heavy equipment including forklifts, tractors, to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, and tractors following OSHA safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Manage shop/yard by organizing stock in the warehouse and yard.
- Load and unload shipments efficiently using appropriate materials handling equipment while adhering to manual handling safety standards.
- Perform regular cleaning, repairs, and preventative maintenance on tools, machinery, and storage areas to sustain a safe working environment.
- Perform regular weed control on property.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently during all tasks to maintain safety standards across the yard and shop areas.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and warehouse distribution processes.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, and tractors with mechanical proficiency.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following OSHA regulations; skilled in manual handling techniques.
- Construction or yard maintenance experience is a plus for understanding materials handling and equipment operation.
- Mechanical knowledge related to maintaining shop tools, heavy machinery, and yard maintenance.
- Excellent organizational skills with experience.
- Commitment to safety regulations including proper PPE use and adherence to OSHA standards in all activities.
- Prior warehouse supervisor experience is advantageous for coordinating team efforts in maintaining a safe work environment.
