JOB This position is responsible for instructing in theory, lab, and clinical Nursing courses. This position serves in various capacities to realize the College’s mission of student success; responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, creating and grading assessments, setting up and monitoring labs, supervising clinicals, assisting in academic advising and program evaluation, and determining the mastery of course content by the student.

Essential Duties

Develops and delivers lectures for theory.

Creates labs to teach required nursing skills, including assessment.

Evaluates students’ performance during skills checkoffs.

Manages students in class, lab, clinical, and preceptorship assignments.

Evaluates and grades assignments submitted by students (homework, papers, discussion forums, exams, quizzes, projects, clinical paperwork.).

Maintains current and accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Conducts evaluations and testing of students.

Evaluates student progression and initiates corrective action plans as needed for class, lab, and/or clinical.

Develops, reviews and revises exams and course material.

Collaborates with faculty and Director, ADN Education to develop policies and procedures for program.

Maintains NCBON education rules and standards.

Participates in assigned institutional committees.

Participates in student recruitment events and activities.
Additional Duties

Responsible for communicating availability with students in-person, via email, via telephone, etc.

Incorporates instructional and distance learning technology into the delivery of instructional programs.

Recruits, retains, and assists in placing students in a manner consistent with student learning goals.

Participates in professional development activities.

Maintains and updates SDS sheets.

Meets and confers with Vice Presidents on code of conduct violations and disciplinary actions.

Other duties as needed.

Physical Demands
This job requires continuous talking or hearing; frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, and gripping or feeling with hands, typing/repetitive movement. Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to indoor environment, outdoor environment, classroom setting.
