The Assistant Store Manager (Assistant Doughnut Boss) supports day-to-day retail operations, team leadership, and financial performance of a high-volume doughnut shop. This role partners with the Store Manager to drive sales, deliver exceptional customer service, maintain product quality, and lead a team in a fast-paced food service environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for candidates with experience in retail management, restaurant management, or food & beverage operations.
Key Responsibilities

Support overall store operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and daily execution

Deliver and uphold exceptional customer service standards in a high-volume environment

Assist in hiring, training, coaching, and developing team members

Help manage employee scheduling, labor control, and shift coverage

Maintain consistent product quality, food safety, and cleanliness standards

Monitor and support sales performance, KPIs, and revenue goals

Assist with inventory management, ordering, and waste control

Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally to ensure a positive experience

Partner with the Store Manager on local marketing efforts and in-store promotions

Lead by example—working alongside the team to ensure smooth, efficient operations
Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in retail, restaurant, or food service management (Assistant Manager or Shift Lead level preferred)

Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills

Experience with high-volume operations and fast-paced environments

Working knowledge of POS systems, cash handling, and basic reporting

Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
