Industrial Engineer

A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support operational performance, process improvement, cost control, and productivity initiatives within a plant manufacturing environment.
This individual will play a key role in evaluating manufacturing processes, developing performance standards, analyzing production data, supporting budget planning, and identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, labor utilization, material flow, and overall plant performance. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, analytical, and comfortable working closely with operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams.
Responsibilities

Support plant and division objectives related to quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and overall operational performance.

Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing performance standards related to labor, productivity, yield, machine utilization, and material usage.

Analyze production processes, labor requirements, material flow, and operating costs to identify opportunities for improvement.

Assist with budget planning and forecasting related to labor, materials, equipment utilization, and overhead.

Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving throughput, and increasing operational efficiency.

Evaluate production data, cost trends, and performance metrics to recommend and implement corrective actions.

Support work measurement, labor standards, wage administration, and workforce planning efforts.

Partner with cross-functional teams to improve production flow, scheduling, inventory levels, and delivery performance.

Apply Lean manufacturing, JIT, statistical analysis, and other industrial engineering tools to improve plant performance.

Assist with the evaluation and implementation of automation, monitoring systems, and manufacturing technologies where appropriate.

Recommend improvements to processes, procedures, systems, and engineering practices.

Support employee involvement initiatives and help drive sustainable change across the manufacturing operation.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

3+ years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with process improvement, cost reduction, labor standards, production optimization, and manufacturing performance analysis.

Strong understanding of industrial engineering principles, work measurement, Lean manufacturing, JIT, and quality tools.

Experience analyzing labor, material, overhead, productivity, and process cost data.

Ability to develop and maintain manufacturing standards, budgets, and performance metrics.

Familiarity with automation, manufacturing monitoring systems, or control technologies preferred.

Proficiency with spreadsheets, data analysis tools, and manufacturing systems.

ERP or MES experience preferred.

Experience in high-volume or process-driven manufacturing is a plus.

Work Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing environment and requires regular time on the production floor. Candidates should be comfortable working around machinery, noise, and standard plant conditions.
