Job Summary: The Operations Manager evaluates all costs for payment approvals or dispute filings and manages corporate office and departmental processes as they relate to business operations. The Operations Manager also works to assist in the coordination of operational activities including dispatch and customer service when necessary.
Essential Functions:
· Analyze dispatch lanes, drivers and orders to maximize profitability and minimize downtime
· Evaluate dispatch boards to ensure that coverage is available and mistakes are minimized
· Maintain all necessary documentation and ensure that it is up-to-date, i.e. certificates of insurance, carrier agreements, etc.
· Work with Service Center Manager and/or Area Director to identify potential service issues that can be handled or contained at the service center level
· Assist departments as needed with issues such as customer service, driver disputes, maintenance concerns, etc.
· Handle driver complaints and situational issues
· Prepare operational reports for department heads and executive leadership
· Review all service center invoices to approve cost before submitted for payment
· Determine where costs should be categorized (company expense, driver costs, etc.)
· Quote various rates for customers and analyze possible routes for new business
· Dispute charges when necessary
· Communicate with customers and customer service departments regarding scheduling appointments and deliveries
· Communicate with customers to handle any escalated customer service issues or complaints
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
· A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the transportation/intermodal industry required
· Strong problem-solving and reasoning ability
· Experience with people management
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to make quick decisions based on various factors
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under frequent time pressures
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Pay: $74,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
