Overview
- Lead the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) team, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with clinical standards.
- Develop and maintain a supportive environment for professional staff within the neonatal units.
- Coordinate and oversee the Neonatal Regionalization Support Program (NRSP) operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Promote professional development and clinical competency among Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs).
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Support fiscal planning and resource management to optimize unit operations.
- Foster family-centered care by acting as a liaison between families and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the delivery of patient care across neonatal units.
- Evaluate and coach APNs to ensure clinical excellence and career satisfaction.
- Develop and implement policies to improve operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Monitor compliance with safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Assist in personnel actions including hiring, appraisals, and disciplinary measures.
- Coordinate APN activities with other hospital personnel for seamless operations.
- Collaborate on budgetary planning and resource allocation to ensure efficiency.
- Promote regulatory compliance and customer service excellence within the unit.
Job Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
- Current RN licensure in the State of Texas.
- Certification in specialty area preferred (e.g., NRP, PALS, BLS).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience; 7 years preferred.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures.
- Ability to foster collaboration and communication among multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
