Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of defending clients facing criminal charges, providing expert legal counsel, and ensuring their rights are protected throughout the judicial process. Responsibilities
- Represent clients in criminal proceedings, including arraignments, hearings, trials, and plea negotiations
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to build compelling defense strategies
- Draft legal documents, motions, and briefs with precision and clarity to support case arguments
- Negotiate with prosecutors to achieve favorable plea deals or case dismissals when appropriate
- Investigate case facts by interviewing witnesses, reviewing evidence, and consulting with experts in various fields
- Advise clients on their legal rights, options, and potential outcomes throughout the criminal justice process
- Maintain meticulous case files and documentation to ensure compliance with legal standards and deadlines
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience in criminal law or related fields such as litigation or legal research
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent writing and legal drafting abilities
- Familiarity with a broad spectrum of legal areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, landlord-tenant law, and more
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis is essential
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex cases with confidence and professionalism
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively advocate for clients and collaborate with colleagues

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
