As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Settlement Negotiator to join our Pre-Litigation Department. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced team in a collaborative environment with supportive leadership and opportunities for long-term growth.
Important: We are only considering candidates with substantial personal injury settlement negotiation experience. Candidates without direct experience negotiating personal injury claims will not be considered.
Position Overview
Megeredchian Law is seeking a highly skilled Settlement Negotiator to manage and resolve a high-volume caseload of personal injury matters.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience negotiating settlements with insurance carriers, evaluating liability and damages, reviewing medical records, and maximizing case value. This role requires strong analytical skills, confidence in negotiations, and the ability to achieve favorable outcomes while providing exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
- Independently negotiate and settle a high-volume caseload of personal injury claims
- Manage approximately 40–50 or more settlements per month
- Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement value for a variety of personal injury cases
- Review medical records, billing records, and supporting documentation to determine case value
- Prepare and present comprehensive settlement demands
- Negotiate with insurance adjusters to maximize recoveries for clients
- Develop effective negotiation strategies, including counteroffers, objection handling, and settlement resolution
- Communicate settlement recommendations and updates to clients throughout the negotiation process
- Coordinate with attorneys, case managers, and support staff to ensure efficient case progression
- Maintain accurate case documentation and negotiation notes within the case management system
- Meet productivity goals while maintaining high standards of client satisfaction
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience negotiating personal injury settlements
- Demonstrated experience settling 40–50 or more cases per month
- Experience negotiating a wide range of personal injury cases, including:
- Injection cases
- Surgical cases
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) cases
- Extensive experience negotiating with major personal auto insurance carriers, including AAA, State Farm, GEICO, Progressive, Farmers, and Allstate
- Experience negotiating with commercial insurance carriers, including AIG, Travelers, Zurich, Chubb, and Liberty Mutual
- Knowledge of public entity claims, government claims, premises liability (slip and fall), and Federal Tort Claims
- Strong understanding of economic and non-economic damages, including pain and suffering and loss of earnings
- Ability to analyze medical records and effectively communicate the value of injuries and treatment
- Exceptional negotiation skills, including valuation, counteroffer strategy, objection handling, and closing settlements efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a high-volume California personal injury law firm
- Experience negotiating catastrophic injury claims
- Familiarity with CasePeer or other legal case management software
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience, negotiation history, case complexity, and the ability to consistently maximize settlements while maintaining excellent client service.
Salary Range: $80,000–$110,000 annually (DOE)

- Employees may choose a start time between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM, which determines the remainder of their workday
