Salary: $35,000–$45,000 based on experience
Summary:
Green Acres School is seeking a dedicated part-time Spanish teacher to teach students in pre-k–3rd grade. Teachers conduct classes in Spanish as much as possible, using authentic games, songs, conversations, and other activities and projects to help children internalize language components. The Spanish teacher will participate in the review and development of the school-wide Spanish curriculum to ensure coherency of scope and sequence from pre-k to 8th grade. Responsibilities:
Teaching
Design and implement engaging, inquiry-based units and lessons in Spanish.
Encourage critical thinking and a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives and narratives.
Integrate project-based learning and experiential opportunities into the curriculum.
Collaborate with colleagues in interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
Use a variety of assessment tools to support and measure student growth.
Create a classroom environment that celebrates diversity, promotes equity, and supports the social-emotional development of students.
Participate in school life beyond the classroom (e.g., field trips, community events, etc).
Leadership
Additional responsibilities (as appropriate)
Attend program-related school functions, such as Back-to-School Night and admission open houses
Supervise students during assigned duty times
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; master’s preferred
Native or native-like fluency in the Spanish language
Demonstrate the skills to provide differentiated instruction and to integrate technology into the curriculum
